- CVE-2025-15703, 12 Oct 2026
- The HireZoot WordPress plugin before 4.0.0 does not sanitise and escape one of its job specification settings before it is reflected back into an admin-area settings page, allowing users with the HireZoot WordPress plugin before 4.0.0's management capability (Administrator by default) to store a payload that is executed in the browser of any administrator who later opens that page. As the unfiltered_html capability is not available to administrators on multisite (or where DISALLOW_UNFILTERED_HTML is set), this leads to Stored Cross-Site Scripting. CVE record
- CVE-2023-4933, 16 Oct 2023
- The WP Job Openings WordPress plugin before 3.4.3 does not block listing the contents of the directories where it stores attachments to job applications, allowing unauthenticated visitors to list and download private attachments if the autoindex feature of the web server is enabled. CVE record
What to do if you run HireZoot
If you run HireZoot, open WordPress and check the installed version in Plugins. Compare it with the affected versions in the vulnerability record. If a fixed version is available, take a current backup and update to that version or the latest supported release.
If no fixed version exists, consider disabling and removing the plugin or replacing it with a maintained alternative. After dealing with the affected software, check administrator users, unexpected file changes, redirects, unfamiliar pages and security logs for signs that the site may already have been altered.
